Meridian Line Films receives second nomination for RTS Yorkshire Awards

Meridian Line Films are thrilled that one of our productions has been nominated for a 2019 RTS Yorkshire Award for Professional Excellence: Factual Production. This is the second nomination MLF have received in this category, also being nominated in 2018 for Smart China: Start-Up Revolution.

How China Made It was broadcast on Youku and Discovery Asia in January 2019 and has since received millions of views internationally.

Released on the 40th anniversary of China’s ‘Reform and Opening Up Policy’ initiated by Deng Xiaoping in 1979, the series provides fascinating insight into the subsequent enormous change which impacted on the lives of hundreds of millions of Chinese people and the rest of the world.

How was this change experienced by the everyday Chinese people who lived through it, as well as some of the more famous Chinese personalities; why did such a change come about and how?

The winners will be announced on 14th June 2019 at an awards ceremony in Channel 4’s new home, Leeds.
